Let’s talk bike water bottle cage fit – it’s an important topic when it comes to safety on the bike. We did some serious testing when developing the Bivo One cycling water bottle and the Bivo One has a universal cage fit as a result!
Cleaning cleaning cleaning. Honestly, not my favorite thing to do. But when it’s made easier, I really appreciate it! When we came up with the idea for Bivo, we knew a lot of what the bottle would need. Flow rate was our first thought – how can we get water out quickly enough so you don’t lose a breath focusing on sucking in water (and getting rid of that precious air)?

August has been a packed month of events and we are learning from all of you! We have been thinking about our bottles since 2019 so what may seem obvious to us by now is still new to many of you! Thanks for asking questions, sharing ideas, and pointing out important elements of the bottles to us!

Will my new Bivo fit in my bottle cage? What cage fits the bottles the best? My Bivo doesn’t fit in my cage, what should I do?

We get these questions a lot and hope this article can provide some answers. Through our own testing and customer interaction, we’ve learned the perfect bottle cage is entirely based on personal preference. How tight you like the cage to hold your bottle, the material, and location on your frame vary. Generally, we have found side loading cages work well for small frames, and carbon/plastic cages will hold the bottle tighter than metal cages.

Maghalie Rochette is a professional cyclocross rider from just north of Montreal. She has made a life of it, living on the road with her husband, coach, mechanic and agent, David, exploring roads and courses across the globe. She is a dreamer at heart and that has given her the ability to believe she can be the amongst the best in the world. In 2019, she proved that her dream was a reality when she won the famous Jinglecross World Cup race in Iowa.

Back in 2019, on a cross country ski on Mt Hood, the idea of a non-plastic cycling bottle was born. We had this big realization that we consumed water out of plastic in all the sports and activities we loved. Cycling, in particular, jumped out as having a huge problem waiting to be tackled. We are product geeks at heart and from that moment forward we jumped straight into the world of bottles. WOW, did we have a lot to learn!
